About SINDA Appreciation Ceremony

The SINDA Appreciation Ceremony (SAC) is a biennial awards ceremony that honours the many hands that have played a key role in making a difference in the lives of those in our community. Since SINDA’s early days, our volunteers and partners have been instrumental in reaching out to more Indians in need.

Since the early nineties, many events have served as platforms for SINDA to recognise the contributions of our volunteers. In line with the spirit of collaboration, these events were consolidated in 2018 into the SINDA Appreciation Ceremony. Together with volunteers, this event also continues to commend the efforts of community organisations and schools that have partnered with SINDA.

SINDA’s volunteers, community partners and schools continue to be the engines behind the success of many of our key events and programmes, in service to the Singaporean Indian community.

Community Partners

Our Indian, religious and grassroots partner organisations have been our eyes and ears on the ground, and have connected families to SINDA for assistance. In addition, many of them collaborate with SINDA to bring programmes to their respective constituents. Collaborations with our community partners have played a pivotal role in boosting SINDA’s outreach efforts.

Volunteers

As a voluntary-welfare organisation, or VWO, SINDA depends on volunteers to extend its efforts on to the ground, SINDA volunteers go beyond their call of duty, to make sure that meaningful and impactful help is rendered to all who are in need of it.

Schools

Many schools island-wide play an integral role in our student engagement and outreach, in addition to providing their venues for after-school tutorial programmes by SINDA. Supporting SINDA’s thrust on educational opportunities for all, our school partners show tremendous dedication and commitment in helping our Indian students reach their true potential.

Sub-Committee & Resource Panels

These professionals serve on various advisory committees at SINDA to lend their expertise and knowledge to the organisation, so that the organisation can render optimal services to the community.

SINDA takes pride in honouring the rapport, community spirit and passion of our community partners, schools and volunteers
